A Call to Action

Slow Down.

Think.

Proceed.

The meaning behind the milestone.

The story you're afraid of might just be the one someone needs to hear. We're building a space for thought leaders, founders, artists, athletes, and activists who want to explore the bigger questions — not just what people achieve, but who they became in the process.

About Sam

Sam Weber — lawyer, storyteller, multidisciplinary creator — built The Bigger Why around one question: why do we do what we do, and who do we become in the process? Each episode sits with sponsors, founders, artists, investors, entrepreneurs, athletes, and activists to surface the deeper forces beneath ambition and identity. We explore not just what people achieve, but the journey behind it — the breakthroughs, the private doubts, and the moments that changed everything. What sustains people during hardship? What gives life meaning? Beyond accomplishments, we celebrate the vulnerability, honesty, and transformation that define the human experience.

Ambitious endeavors without meaningful reflection will often leave us hollow. Reflection without action is merely a dream forever postponed.

Core themes

What we dig into

Stories beneath accomplishment

The what is only the beginning. We go after the why and the how — the private decisions, quiet sacrifices, and turning points behind every milestone.

Questions fueling ambition

What sustains people during hardship? What gives life meaning? We sit with the unresolved questions that keep driven people moving — and honest about the cost.

Humanity underpinning it all

Beyond accomplishment and milestones, we make space for vulnerability, contradiction, and transformation — the parts of the story that don't make the press release.

The Bigger Why.

Host - Samuel Weber

Meet Sam

Lawyer.

Storyteller.

Always curious.

1987

Born, Brooklyn NY

Raised by a special education teacher and a local manufacturer — one gave him tenderness, the other taught him grit.

Law

Global private funds partner

High-stakes transactions in alternative assets. Every deal, a human story in disguise.

Music

The other language

Where precision dissolves — joy, grief, ambition, and doubt at full volume

In his professional capacity, Sam is a partner at a global law firm advising leading private equity sponsors on some of the most sophisticated transactions in the alternative assets industry. That work gave him a front-row seat to decision-making under pressure — how people navigate uncertainty, shoulder responsibility, and make choices that ripple across industries and lives.

Outside the office, Sam pursues creative work that mirrors the polarity of human experience. Music — the language of emotion, melody, and metaphor — is where he wrestles with, and seeks to untangle, the intricacies of meaning, purpose, and the human condition.

The Bigger Why is where these worlds meet. The discipline and rigor of legal work, the emotional honesty of music, and the curiosity that connects both — each episode an invitation to slow down, pay attention, and examine the stories we tell about who we are, and who we still hope to become.Sam lives in New York with his family and is currently recording monthly conversations for the show.
